Fix Your Search Function Already!

Hello Magic Café? I know you are reading!

Your search function is still broken. If I wanna search for a term, let's say "Peanut Butter Trick" and have "ALL FORUMS" selected (which is what I want)I get the following error message: "You must select a forum to search."

Am I supposed to seach in 146 forums individually?

Edit: As pointed out by Loki Kross in the comments, this works: Magic Cafe Search

Kinda sad that it needs to be outsourced. Why does the Café still have a search function?

And god forbid you try and search for anything else with in the next 10 minutes, obviously cafe users are supposed to be VERY slow readers.
Looks like Loki has the answer.

Have you noticed the lack of topic subscription too? So that every single reply you made, if you ever want to see if someone has something to say about it, must be followed manually by checking one by one oll the older post you've made....

The outsourced search isn't very good. It doesn't give you the results in order from newest to oldest and, in many cases, it leaves A LOT of results out.

I haven't visited the Cafe since their engine broke. :(

Googling "site:themagiccafe.com" and your search term works too. Piceltur!

There are free open source forum solutions out there that will handle the volume and needs of the cafe. Why do they insist on having thier tech guy continue with some in house programmed system that is so archaic in approach? I mean come on, a forum with no search feature? then to say oh you can search section by section? Thats insane. To top it off look at how many sections are dead and should be consolidated into others! Its a mess. The cafe has PLENTY of ad banners - and if only a handful paid for the spots, its still decent money. They need to put some cash back into it and make it something with the features folks want and need.

You can use an unique word, or your sig to track back your old posts through the out-sourced search ,as well. It's about all we have to work with at this point, but it is better than nothing.

I just really dislike that there is not 'continue reading from first new post in the thread' button.
