It has just came to my attention that giving something with fire (and an 'explosive') is a bad idea. I almost never do fire tricks but if the spectator threw it and something catches fire, you have a BIG problem. Its your fault, you cant blame them for being afraid. I'm still new to magic and will stay away from such bad ideas in the future.

That's horrible and much like that bra trick I'm sure it'll have a following of devout amateurs that swear it's a great trick.

This is just so bad in every way, safety, making the spectators uncomfortable and the cards aren't even signed so after the effect is over they will backtrack and find the method!

Any effect where you have to run through the pack to show a selected card has vanished is bad theatre, different if the card is thought of, but if it's a selected card then you have it signed, the signature is he proof that the card vanished from the deck. If you can't have the card signed as in this effect then you need to use another subterfuge (I won't go into details here but some of my previous work covers this) if you don't use a few other subtle bits then it has to be a dupe!

So you have a trick in which the method is obvious, and a trick where you scare the shit out of your spectator, as you said Roland, this stuff puts magic back years!!
