Mad Props Dude

I have seen many XCM videos. This one is full of really cool ideas and unique displays. Pred, "a dimensional traveler" is pushing himself to the limits with cardistry!

I like it!

I prefer when they do it with balls, and clubs, and stuff.

Balls, clubs, cards, hell, use small animals for all I care, it's the level of skill I admire (and the hours of dedication). Some refer to XCM as juggling as if it's an insult, I just don't get that.

Damn.

Not an insult, just an observation. And for what it is, I find it far more artistic and entertaining when done with balls and clubs and, yes, even small animals.

As for the level of skill, I just don't share your appreciation on that point. Playing a moderately difficult piece on the piano is, in my opinion, much more difficult than even the most sophisticated of card flourishes. But that too, once mastered, is as easy as habit ;)

I think real appreciable skill comes into it when you start merging the digital dexterity with other aspects such as timing and emotion. I think this is what leaves me cold when watching these mechanical contortions.

I certainly agree with merging, put it to some music and/or give it meaning (dare I say a story) and it goes from clever to artistic.

And the point of all this is?

Well, what's the point of juggling?

I appreciate these kinds of things for their aesthetic qualities. Also, in the case of this video, their innovation. There's a couple things in this video that I've never seen accomplished with a deck of cards. To that end, I enjoyed watching.

I also prefer the guys that are really good at twiddling pens.
