Gee!

If your forum has 160 categories you are doing something wrong!

Depends on you objective. If it is to run an honest, easy to use message board then yes, you are doing something wrong.

If it is to make as much money as possible from advertising banners then you are a genius for getting people to actually use the monstrosity, whilst providing an unprecedented amount of space for advertising.

I visit two categories on that forum (not including the links posted by the mule); shuffled not stirred and the gambling spot as there is some good info to be found on there with some knowledgeable posters. Unfortunately there is constant reposting of the same questions with the same answers over and over again - I would say that half, literally half, of the shuffled not stirred forum is made up of the question 'Which is better Tamariz or Aronson', with the same answers from the same four or five people.

Without those constant reposts the forums would have very few posts indeed (most get one post a week on average) and you could easily take them all and put them into one manageable discussion board.

The cafe is not really as big or as busy as you might think, but long may it continue as it is a constant source of bewilderment and amusement to me.

I've noticed that. There is actually very little going on there. Until some disagrees with Harry Lorayne and then there's an avalanche of activity for about an hour before everything is deleted again.
