Saturday is the great day. In Baywater, Australia (near Melbourne) there is a big fundraiser for blind people, hosted by the "Seeing Eye Dogs Australia" and "Vision Australia". Matt Hollywood, Australia’s Best Magician, is booked as a headliner.
Well guess what, he pulled out. 600$ weren't enough I guess. Of course no replacement was offered from his side. He just pulled out.
Is it not part of the usual business to have a contract in Australia? One that prevents that sort of thing? Well, what do I know!

Bayswater is near Melbourne, not Perth. Wrong side of the country LOL.

We forgive you Roland. There is a Bayswater in both Perth and Melbourne. Heck, the only way I could tell which one is was by checking the postcode :)
In Australia, they usually just call up and book you. These poor people organising the charity obviously thought that "Australia's Greatest Magician" would have at least a grain of common decency. Obviously, he missed that award (no doubt he'll print one out soon)

I PLACED HIS NAME ON TICKETS (WITHOUT HIM KNOWING) AND HE WAS NEVER A DEFINITE BOOKING - SO IF YOU WISH TO BAG SOMEONE ONLINE - BAG ME - OR EVEN BETTER, FLY DOWN AND SEE ME FACE TO FACE! MATT WAS OF GREAT ASSISTANCE PUTTING ME ONTO THREE OTHER MAGICIANS, MR TIM ELLIS AGREED TO DO IT FOR ME AT THE PRICE AGREED BY ONE OTHER MAGICIAN WHO WAS HAPPY TO DO THE GIG BUT HAD TOPULL OUT. I don't understand agreeing to do the show for free only if you can get another one as well. In my day your YES was YES and your NO was NO. You either say you'll do the show or you don't. It looks like things were left very much to the last minute at this event. What would happen if you couldn't get a magician at all? At least you got a good one!

You advertise an entertainer, that has not really been booked- it is no wonder you are working along side shoddy matt hollywood, you both deserve each other.
But to be honest your comments seem to be BS. Having been in the industry for over a decade I have Never ever ever come across this kind of arrangement, I don't think you are the organiser at all because your profile is set to invisible- if you wanted to defend Hollywood then you would openly show your profile, My guesss is your Matt hollywood under a different name. There is a roll on now Matt, words getting out about you- You'll be like your friend ACE on your arse with zip work in no time. Perhaps not on the drugs tho- but who knows.

Matt claims to be based in Melbourne- so why would he need to get a gig in Melbourne to do a free show.
