Absolutely agree. Unless you are doing flourishing exclusively (which just makes you a juggler), no matter what you do people will just assume they are trick cards. I HATE all these special decks.
I agree with both of the previous responses. Even the "Masters" deck, which looks like a standard Bicycle deck with the exception of a more ornate, and colorful, Ace of Spades, is too much out of the ordinary for me for use in performances. But, from a purely aesthetic viewpoint, some of these special decks are nice, and they do usually use the better "Bee" stock (which I find better for seconds, centers, bottoms, etc...)
Couldn't agree more, these types of cards scream 'magician's cards'!!!
